Same on a 535D M-Sport, plenty of bars (about 12 when cold), then drops by a couple every few miles down to 3 or 4 left showing all the time.

My logic would have told me that all should dissapear once at optimum temperature, but after reading above, i guess that's not the case.

Sure, it's safe to rev into those remaining bars; but be forewarned, you are about to have your fuel shut off! Been there, done that.

Cheers,

While the dealer fixed my cup holder, they did a CIP upgrade for me, but the Service Advisor was not sure what version they did put into my car . Anyway, I just notice no matter how hard / how long I drove the car, the white stripes in the tachometer won't retract completly. It used to disappear completly after driving for 5-10 minutes, but now, the 3 last stripes will stay here no matter how long, how hot the outside temperature is.

Anyone has the same problem?
Maybe your old CIP had problem so all the bars retract completly.

It's normal to have 3 - 4 bars. Consider white bars as warning zone, and red bars as danger zone
