2006 525i, steering makes whiney noise when turning from parked or when parking at very low speeds.
This only happens on random days, 3 times so far, and it was very hot and hummid out.
Steering fluid level is normal and no leaks. The car was checked by BMW and nothing was found.
Does anybody know what this can be and any advice, it sounded like old clunker with bad steering pump.
Thank you

Common issue with 545i's and many posts on here about that. Not sure if common with your car but cant imagine it's any different. Mine did it on cold days randomly and now even on warm days will do it. Had it checked and nothing found. Odd that a 70k car has these little issues when my 15k honda didnt!!

FWIW, my e39 540 had this issue, and my indy mechanic identified the problem as the clock spring. It was a fat expense to fix it, so he just lubed it and I lived with it.

Mine mostly showed up on really cold days.

mine did the same this winter - started once in a while, and then everyday after warming up
annoyed me as hell and I was afraid the pump or something is going. fluid was ok though.
well, spring came and the noise just stopped..

take your pick, they're all close if not the same problem. seems like it's not the pump, but either hydraulic resonance of the pump itself or something close to it....many have flushed the power steering fluid with pentosin 202 and found relief....good luck and let us know if you find a fix.....
