My father just received his M3 last month. He has been fighting with the dealor about the location the Sirus antena is located. The dealor wanted to put the black antena on the Trunk / Boot of the car. My father wanted to have it placed on the rear glass window.

Before I receive my 545i in Oct/Nov. I wanted to know if the antena for the Sirus is in the Shark Fin on top of the roof. If not, I want to make sure I get to choose the locations.

Does anyone know where the Sirus radio antena is located?

Small Gripe regarding E60.net forum: I put two questions on the Frequenty asked Question forum over a week ago. Who monitors it and responds. If there is no-one watching the FAQ forum, I would prefer to post in the main forum to attract attention to my questions. I didn't want to do this since the FAQ forum was the right place for my questions.

Any suggestions for more experianced members?

For an E60, If you order Satellite Prep, the Sirius antenna is located in the sharkfin. If you don't order the Prep from the factory, then they need to route the antenna through the trunklid to a 'bump' on the trunk. That's what I've heard anyways - not 100% positive. I've never heard of the antenna going in the window.

yes, it's in the sharkfin. wow, your dad got a m3 and you drive a 545 ? hmmm...that's a little unusual but who cares ! both still are awesome cars !

 

Yeh I know it should be the other way around, but my dad is an empty nester and loves fast cars. I have a 4 year old and a 16 month old. I need the back seat. I figured a 545i SMG was the clostest I could get.

 

how about a m5 ? or tell your dad his grandkids love to hang out w/him but his car is too small so that you can swap for the weekend .
