32, Field Service Rep for Defense Contractor(working in SW Asia currently), bought '04 545 used near-fully loaded cash, but can't understand what these guys are doing to pay for a car like this at under 25 years old! WTF? List some jobs, not just how outrageously young you are to be driving a $50K+ car.....or I guess, rather what your Dad does more like it, I'm jealous..... And why not an M3, instead, only reason I got 5er is the kids and wife have to ride in one of my cars(already have too many toys)

The 5 series is not exactly a cheap car. The people that I see driving these cars are in the 40s and up. All of you 25 and under guys that have a new 5 series must be doing something right! I usually never see a young person driving a 5.

... makes me feel old to see all the replies from the young folks here but it's good to see a great product enjoyed. Actually my 545 is my 3rd 5-series and, when I think of it, I was 28 when I bought my first. This one's paid off though so even more fun.

And to feel younger I just look here in Florida at the drivers of the E60s around me. Contrary to the young ages of the forum members, the drivers around me physically all look aged. But they're enjoying their E60s too :^)

34 (current car) , dental surgeon.

It's amazing how young some of you are. Mind you, cars are cheaper in the US.
Here in the UK, the 520d ,the base model with no extras costs the equivalent of $50,000. A loaded 550i would be $110,000

AFAIK, you guys in the UK make more money than we do in the states for comprable work.

42 Property Developer / Builder. here in Australia I paid $160k for my 540 which arrives in Oz in approx 4 weeks .....

traded out of an X5 4.8is which costs about the same (and bought the E70 4.8 for the lovely lady). Sucks that we have to pay such big $$$$$ to the govt...

Cheers
