Anyone know when dealers start taking orders? I have a deposit to be on the list when they take them

 

my goodness, why give your money away for no reason at all???.. its just an engine upgrade for the most part, they will be available as soon as the sept order sheets hit the dealers, no need to get on a list....

 

Maybe yes, Maybe no. In the northeast, the dealers have lists already for taking orders. I want to get one soon, tired of waiting and with rates so low, I can swing the loss of interest on a small deposit.

 

Most likely, September 2005.

If there is a 550, it will be a MY2006. Dealers can start taking orders for MY2006 in September for November delivery.

I visited my friendly BMW sales guy earlier this week (on Monday) and he thinks he should know more details about the 550 by the end of June and that order sheets should be available sometime between late June (at the earliest) and the end of July. He said orders for the 550 will certainly need to be into BMW by the end of July for September production.

This fellow has been selling BMWs for almost 20 years and he knows BMW will play it close to the vest until they are ready. They will be ready, he says, when they see that the stock of MY2005 545 are running low. He figures that they will look at this week-to-week, and even day-to-day, as we approach the last possible dates to be able to order September builds.

I'm in the same boat as you, Cyclist - with a deposit down to place an order. We just need to keep an eye out as we near July.

Oh, and while I was there, well, taking a 545 for a test spin was a requirement. Wow. The rest of you guys have a great machine to drive. I can not wait.
