You know, I purchased a $45k car. I honestly feel that my dealer should know more about my car than me. I called them about the software this morning, and got the "uh, huh?" Version 16.1 or 2??? cricket, cricket, cricket...
This forum has more info, even if its a rumor (which is a premature fact), than the dealers.
Lets sign a petition and send it to BMW Germany demanding representation!
I'm going to find 16.2 somewhere.

[/quote]According to the tech I spoke with its suppose to fix the problem I specifically talked about. He said he got a bulletin that says it will be fixed in V16 but as we all know, including him, it doesnt contain any new software for the E60. (* I was suprised he said that and it matches what people said here. *) That V16 has no new update for the E60... He said 16.1 is almost out and he doesnt think it will have the fix since BMW hasnt released any new info on it so he expects v16.2 will have it.
It might be right... since iceman said 16.2 will have some major changes... So I can only hope its true right now.

My dealer in Indianapolis said that 2004 e60's (March 1, 2004 build) delivered to the U.S. will not play mp3 files ever -- claiming that it is a hardware issue, not a software update issue.
What do you think -- is he full of crap as usual, just trying to avoid doing the work? Or, is he correct and we've been screwed by BMW again?
