Wheel shakes when I tap on the brake

My Ride: 2004 BMW E60 530i, upgrades: Magnaflow exhaust, Mtec angel eyes and low beam head lights, Just purchased 172 style wheels, looking around for the best tires on Tire Rack now. R1 concepts rotors drilled/slotted. Saving for the M-style kit from Trinity Auto.
When I got my front rotors and pads replaced, I noticed that when I slow to brake the steering wheel shakes when pressing on the brakes lightly but fine when braking harder to slow down. I asked the guys who put them on if anything could be done but no answer. Any suggestions? I can live with it but annoying. Thanks

Did you bed-in your pads and brake discs? If you're not sure what that process is use search. New rotors can be out of round and most installers don't bother to check them thinking that, well, they're NEW - RIGHT! 
Another cause of minor shaking is failing to thoroughly clean the new brake discs before installation. Many times a light rust preventative coating is present (for obvious reasons) and if it isn't cleaned off before installation will cause some brake grabbing etc until it is worn off over time.
That said, worn suspension components (esp control arm bushings) will amplify any braking irregularities. This is more noticeable during heavier braking.

My Ride: 545I and a half dozen other rides
I just went thru this with someones car. I think there was some anti-rattle grease that got onto one of the rotors try re bedding the pads. This seem to fix the problem in our case

I'm thinking a bad rotor(s)also! I just went through the same thing. I replaced my rotors with Zimmerman rotors and akebono pads! Did the bedding process and all is well....

My Ride: '06 530i M Sport N52
i had the same problem with a set of EBC slotted discs, discs were not 100% true to hub, we're talking out by a tiny amount but a few weeks/months after fitting the uneven wear gives the impression of warped discs. I got them skimmed while still on the car with a specialist lathe and no problems since.

When this issue popped up on my last bimmer it was a bad caliper that was not completely releasing when you stop depressing the brake.
