What did the dealer say about your car? Did they threaten you about warranty? I know what you have dont have anything to do with the steering sensor but just curious how your dealer is taking all your mods.

I have now been waiting 4 weeks for the part. :'(

I bugged the dealer yesterday and the service manager said the part is still on back order, but they are expecting some in the next week.

They also had 5 more failures in the last 2 weeks, the techs at the dealer think it may be heat related.
(High outside temperatures promoting the failures)

My car is at the dealership now getting the software completely reinstalled. The module took 4 weeks to arrive. I hope it is done today as the 530 XI, though a nice vehicle, is not a 550i with Michelin PS2s.

I had SZL module and software update (CIP Ver 22.0) done this week. I asked my SA if this was a one time event fix. He said, very honestly I thought, the problem is too new to know the answer to this question.

Has anyone experienced a second SZL failure?

My did a second failure but it was funny. The second time the module did not go bad. The told me that my car needed haudralic fluid.

that's all folk.

The light when i took my car for the second time after they replace the szl module.

Indeed strange. I will have to keep an eye out for that. Hope it never appears.

What was the time & miles between the two incidents? I had just over 5,400 (trouble-free) miles on my carf when I got the SZL failure.

Wow,,, i feel lot better knowing it wasnt just me getting sacked by my service advisor, this seems like a serious problem.

Well after i found out the part was on back order i told the service advisor i will be picking up the car for the weekend and when the part comes in to give me a call so i can drop it back off.

I went on friday afternoon to bmw of manhatan to pick up my baby and to find a nice set of scratches on my hood all the way down to the metal. I quickly went to get my service adviser which then got the manager and so on. They said they will paint my hood when i bring it back to have the module replaced. He didnt give me anythign in writing so its basically on the trust system.

Also while i was driving my car home i found few more issues.

1. the steering wheel si extremely hard to turn, wasnt liek this before.
2. the turn signal wont turn off after i make the turn (both right and left signals)

are these all issues that have soemthig to do witht he module and will be fixed when i get a new svl module?
