Anybody ever transmitted a service request?

How long did it take for BMW to contact you once you did?

I think it's really up to your "preferred dealer"...

I'm not quite sure how all this works but I think that the car has your preferred dealer information stored so when a service request is initiated, the data gets sent to that dealer (somehow -- maybe via an email?)

It's up to the dealer to respond and/or check these messages. A while ago, on my old car, I received a call one day after my car initiated a service request (due to an approaching state inspection deadline) but just a day or so ago, I received a post card in the mail reminding me of my soon to expire inspection. I can't say whether the post card came as a result of the car contacting them or the dealer just having my expiration date already stored in some database.

On my old car, you used to be able to see when the last service request was sent, etc. but on my new one, I can't seem to find that selection. Come to think of it, I don't remember seeing how I can manually send a service request anymore...

I sent a request more than 6 weeks ago after I received a warning light for my microfilter. I have not heard back from my service provider (South BMW in Miami, Florida).

Once you send a request, you can't send one again. I guess that my dealer is too busy to respond.

I'm not sure about this service request, but I just go to my dealer and drive thru there service area, and they start on what I need or tell me to come back tommorow.

My car just transmitted a service request for oil change service and I received a phone call from the dealer the next day.

That is the way things are supposed to be. I hear stories about this stuff, but I think that I reside in one of the highest volume areas in the country.
