What's "Passenger Airbag Restraint System?"

My Ride: 2005 545i Black Sapphire - Fully Loaded
Model Year: 545i 2005
I took a drive today and the error message "Passenger Airbag Restraint System faulty". Anyone have this problem? I read member 1stgen8 changed out an amp and this message came up, but nothing on my car was changed prior to this message. Is this part of the airbag recall on passenger airbag?

Maybe slightly Off Topic here, but if I put a baby seat in the passenger seat(s) (front & rear) does the E60 auto detect it, or is there a manual switch off for the airbag?

yup had it twice now go to dealer, first time they replaced the sensor pad just recently they reprogrammed the computer with newest version software.

Did you guys get it replaced under warranty? My warranty just expired last Sunday... just my luck. How much does this sensor cost?
