Hi,

I'm new around these parts. I've just picked up an E61 2005/05 525 Msport diesel to use as a work tool. cracking car!

I've had lots of BMW's before from an E36 316 to the latest M3 cab. This is my first 5 though.

The new car has the media pack fitted and is running a DVD called Road Map Europe Proffesional 2005-2.

I'd like to upgrade to the latest version but am unsure if the newer versions are backward compatible. I've searched both this site and the BMW site but am struggling to get a definitive answer.

Can someone tell me which disc I need to buy and if there are any suppliers who offer good prices?

Sat Nav DVD Disc 2008-1...At least thats what's latest here in my place...

And yes, it's compatible...when you insert the new version of the dvd map it will prompt you to leave the new disc in the slot and switch the car off for 5 minutes, like a reboot or something...after that, everything will work like usual but this time more detailed (at least for my country's version)...
