Some people have asked me if I will make them cables to connect the BMW OEM LED licence plate lights. I've now made one out of all BMW parts and its completely plug and play. There are no heavy resistors so should be quite safe within the Trunk area. It also does not require any trim removal etc and could be done in under 5 mins.
I am going to try my hand at building a Strobe Free version too but just wanted to know what if anyone would be interested in these.
Sign your name here and I'll contact you when I have some pricing confirmed. However I don't think a single cable will be more than ?20-?25 for the basic version without the lights. The lights themselves are about ?9 each which you need now buy from me, thus saving on postage charges. If I get about 30 people here then BMW will give me 10% discount on all the parts which I will pass on.

Bruce, when it's all done that is about 60USD + shipping. Don't know if the benefit of having a brightly lit tag is worth it.
I'd almost pay more to make my tag disappear. Can you come up with a light that will do that? If you are successful I'd like to commission you to do the same with some of our politicians!

I don't think shipping will be a lot for these cables because I do not think anyone would want to spend ?25 for a courier so I would send this by Royal Mail which is not very expensive at all and if we get enough of people sign up then the discount that BMW will provide me will probably cover the shipping costs so you wont pay anything more than what I've quoted.
As for your request I'm sure you can find bulbs that are much lower wattage that would make your plates barely visible.

Hi Bruce,
there is a version on ebay already, isn't it?
They say strobe free and plug and drive...
If I find it, I'll post it...
