Okay, so maybe I've been asleep for a while but I just noticed something kind of neat (as well as useless) -- the speedometer works in reverse!

Anyone remember if the E39 did that? I never bothered to look. The only reason I noticed it on this car was due to the HUD.

Someone want to see if they can engage cruise in reverse? How about ACC?

Right, Rudy. I always keep HUD up and first noticed when I was backing out of the garage at 3 mph. I don't think the E39 did that, but it would have been much harder to notice. I think we gotta get it up to 30 mph in reverse to engage cruise.

You first, OK?

My garage is so narrow that I'm only at the 1 or 2 mph speed when backing out -- you're a speed demon man!

We may have to flip a coin to see who tries to engage cruise. I wonder if Active Steering is operational in reverse? If it is, we need to shut it off for the reverse test!!

I thought that cruise thing in reverse was your idea. I'm just an innocent bystander But, I would have a pretty good shot at it because once out of the garage, I have a 300' mowed and treeless ROW behind me. They frown on rutting though. Tell you what. Let's just put this on the shelf until we really, really get bored one day -- or looping.

Now's the time to try then, before they fix your car.
