Whats the difference from pre/after 09/2005

What's all about that pre/after 09/2005 e60 models.
I have an 08/2005 E60 and if i look for M5 mirrors or M5 steering wheel its almost always after 09/2005 models.
Will they fit on my E60?
Does someone knows what's the difference in these models?

Model Year: 2006
The mirrors have changes in pre/post 9/05. The pre 9/05 mirrors have three connectors and the functions controlled via the door module while the post 9/05 have one connector and some fuctions have been transferred to the body module.

you guys forgot to address his other question, correct me if I'm wrong but it is my understanding that the reason why the steering wheel was changed is because as of 09/05 they started to equip all E60s with the Start/stop button in the dashboard instead of the key hole in the steering wheel column

As for M5 steering wheel, post-09/05 cannot be installed on pre-09/05 one due to fitment incompatibility. In pre-09/05 steering wheel, the middle spoke pointing downward is used to hold steering wheel ECU, but post-05/09 does not. All in all, it does not fit, and I don't want to go into much detail.
