I have RDS on my SUV and hate it. I do not know how to turn it off and would if I could. Many of the stations have choosen to use it to send SPAM. It is bad enough that you have to listen to commercials, but this is crossing the line. If they pass a law that stations could only use it to show artist and title then I would find it useful.

So as I thought.. it's just one of those crazy online things. Most people in reality probably don't give a damn nor even notice it.
Alrighty then!

Most of the stations worth listening to here have RDS. ...and they don't display just station name. Many do show artist and song title. I like it, especially when I hear a new song-- I can just look and see who sings it and what the name is.

Of course the names are important.
I was in Birmingham recently and got
Without RDS: 105.2 and 95.8 wtf are these?
With RDS: KERRANG! and SAGA. Wonder which I'll listen to? (clue: I am under 70)

I like it since sometimes I'll wonder what a song is so that i can DL it or something.

Lomag took the words right out of my mouth.? I've been scratching my head trying to find out why everyone seems so obsessed with whether or not RDS is fixed in version 13.x.? I've used RDS on other cars and I find that I'm not sitting around wondering how I ever got along without it for so many years.
I usually listen to one or two stations and I know how to find them without using RDS.? When I'm travelling, I use All Stations if I'm on FM and I use Autostore on AM.? Again, no real need for text descriptions, etc.
If I had to, I'd rank MP3 higher on the list of priorities but in my opinion, Sirius radio (with nav) would rank higher than fixing MP3's or RDS!? Until then, it'll be "old fashioned" radio and CD's for me...
