I've seen 800 miles after filling up. Usually around 600 though.

Well, I only have 990 miles on the car, but I have filled it 4 times. I don't even want to do the math on that one, as I know how poor it will be.

On the brighter side, I am getting close to the 1200 mile marker, so the real fun can begin!
I've just got to 2,500 miles and the beast is loosening up nicely. I kept a record of my last car (325 SE Auto)mpg (see attached chart) and you can see it took about 8,000 miles before mpg settled above 30 mpg.

I am keeping a similar record with my new car and will post details when there is enough data.

After modest 60 mph driving I get 620 (British) miles showing as my range on filling her up. What is the best you get?
I actually seem to get better at 70-75 than 55-60

After I filled it yesterday I reset my obc and did a bit of a 70mph cruise in the sun (ipod playing) my range was 626 which was as high as I have got it.

It does run as low as 450 - perhaps I should accelerate less ?

(on second thoughts - no)

Congrats on your fine M5

but I bet you'll be faster with the 535d on the long haul due to fuel economy saving on the average 1 pitstop

Best ever was 1000km on a tank but that was through the horrendous roads of Montenegro averaging just 68km/h. Usually I get around 550 km in city mode, 850 km in light highway mode and 700 in high speed mode (200km/h+)

p.s. cant be bothered to convert to miles
