What would you guys rather buy - an m3 or a 550i?

the M is DEFINITELY my next car, almost bought the 86 M6 in the dealer today - I just love that car, it's old but it's badass.

I love cars but I have never been on a race track. I have never been on a twist mountain road but I drive fast on highways. A 550i is actually fine for me.
I heard the next gen M3 will not have a V8 anymore. If it did have a 6-cylinder engine again, would you guys still have an M3 over a 550?
