It all depends on what you are looking for....do you need an all around car like the 550 or a car just to have fun with......lots of fun with!!!!

I am referring to BigRevKev's comment about driving a 550i would be seen as CRASS in Ireland. By the way, What is WTF?

I have contemplated same question. I have a 550i sport now. I disagree with some comments above in that the M3 is not practically faster. Of course it gets to nearly any speed quicker and has a higher top speed, but if you were blindfolded with a set of earplugs in, you'd think the 550 was faster because it definitely puts you in your seat harder and instantly after you hit the gas (no triple downshift required). I'm not bashing the M3, its just that the 550 is just as fast in a downtown/suburban setting. What the M3 has is 1) sports car feel; and 2) sports car street cred [the 550 has none in conversation until people see the 19s and m-sport body kit].
In my line of work, it is wise to drive a car that says money and status. I'm 35 and personally convinced that the only M3 that does that for a professional my age is the vert. I love the 550. But I would like something a little more fun. I was blown away with the X6 5.0 believe it or not. Good luck. |
