I ran the PSS on my 530xi (PSS summer, Hakka R2 winter), and I can confirm the awesome factor. in the wet, they outdo regular all seasons in the dry. in the dry, they're awesome. my mustang cobra friend (fully built suspension, brakes, 50WHP) runs them on the front for track duty (R888s on the rear), and they hold up great.

And on that note, I just swapped out my style 172s with my old xdrive style 138s (30mm H&R spacers are PERFECT, fyi), as those had my 245 square michelin PSS setup. I can say, without hesitation, that a 550 with 245 wide PSS is far superior than one with 245/275 staggered all seasons, even after a rain.

so in short, you can trade 30mm of width for a far better compound, and be much better off.
