Guys, I have an 13Oct03 E60 525i with M54 with following option in my built sheet.
"S640A AUTOTELEFONVORBEREITUNG Preparation f tel.installation universal"

And my MASK options look like below;

After reading all the posts, I am little confused and would like to know;
  1. Do I need a new TCU. I am assuming yes, and what is the part number of this new TCU.
  2. What code do I need to change in the above MASK and do I need to update both CAS and LMA.
  3. After the TCU and coding is taken care off, do I need a bluetooth antenna?

Thanks for help in advance.

Note - My dealer here says I need a kit 84640441949, but that does not include the TCU and includes all cable and microphone etc. Is that something different solution instead of replacing the TCU. And if yes, then with the TCU, where is the Bluetooth antenna?

Bit more details on the built information, which need to function if I change the TCU. This is what I have.

If you aren't set on an all BMW integrated solution, you might take a look at the Parrot stuff. I just installed the Parrot CK3100 in my daughter's 2007 Mazda 3. Works pretty good. It wasn't too bad except for a little cable routing. Essentially the Parrot unit switches the speaker cables to the bluetooth when you get a call and has it's own amplifier, so it is all independent of what's going on with the car stereo. If I had it to do over I might go have gone with the MKi9100, which has a nicer display.

Just looking to set the genuine stuff to work for now. Thanks for your suggestion.

Digged around bit more and I am sure I need a Bluetooth Antenna. Does anyone here know where is the connector of Bluetooth antenna on an 10/03 E60 525i? What does the connector looks like and where is it located?

Bentley manual says the antenna is located beneath the center console next to the parking brake handle. The retrofit kit wants the antenna to be located under the rear deck in the trunk. Check out this thread: Bluetooth retrofit part number request - BMW M5 Forum and M6 Forums

Thanks twh for the information. Is that the Bentley manual for E60? Cause the link explains the wiring for E39. Also, does the Bentley Manual describes how to access the Bluetooth connector under the centre console. Is it via the air vents side of the back seats? Or by remove the panel where the menu button is located under the hand brake? Or by removing the center console?
