What kind of praise you ever received on your ride?

I just moved here a few months ago, and near as I can tell, it's only me, and a 5black 30xi in town, no other e60s. The locals haven't said anything, but an old friend who lives here and drives a loaded CTS4 says that the locals frown on people with flashy cars, thinking they are "not our kind of people". It's a shame how being semi-successful gets an entire town looking down at you. *sigh*

Jealously and envy my friend. Too many people hate on what they cannot have. I want a Ferrari. Always have. But I don't frown on those who can afford one. I find it motivating.
You and me both. LOL

Being only 18, a lot of the local kids show some hate. But these are the guys who work on civics and 240s and go to the local community college, so it doesn't really bother me. But I've seen some guys, mostly older folks, point and look at my car on occasion. It's a good feeling. And it's only going to feel better when I start modding it

I get stares ALL the time when I drive my 530i sport. I've heard it all from, "your car looks murdered out" to "it must be nice.".
I specifically went for the clean mod approach; hitting all the fine detail area's, i.e. grill, tint, badge, tail lights, side markers.
The looks I get as I am coming is fantastic 'cause everyone loves the black grills on the jet black car. I become especially proud when I turn a M3 drivers head.

You and I have the same taste then. I really like the subtle but obvious sporty mods that don't turn the car into a trashy looking thing.

I can see why BMW drivers are sometimes considered dicks based on some of the responses here.
Some of us drive these cars because they are well engineered and fun. I don't give a crap about people telling me how great I am because of my car.

Hey Rodney, I don't think any of us drive the cars for the shallow reasons. Personally, yes my car is really nice...but I only drive it 1 day per week. I spend 6 days a week drving a '97 Acura CL with 218k miles on it.
It's just interesting to see other's reaction to something.
