They said they can't go cheaper. It's because of my MASSIVE amount of horsepower that makes it so expensive (so they said).

I'm going warranty-free. What a rebel, a daredevil. No doubt the engine will fall out on friday
Welcome to the club my friend!

I was just contemplating an unlikely scenario where some mechanical failure that you argue should be covered by a warranty and gets disputed when they see you drive at 155mph for 19 hours a day with the parking brake on. They could potentially claim no car could be expected to cope and it broke due to abuse.
Unless they have a specific disclaimer against that, I don't see why they would care or even argue against that. I thought that they put their cars through atrocious tests to arrive to their breakdown point.

It's not something I'm particularly concerned about, and won't lose sleep over it. I just wondered what they have on there. I don't recall anyone ever discussing what info can be retrieved from the keys. It was only really a side-issue to mention that they might use it against us.

On a similar theme,I saw an article in Car & Driver some time back where if you were in a crash which triggered airbags ,the information stored in the car computer memory could be retrieved to determine your speed at the time of impact.

Everytime I take my car to maintenance and the worker reads up my key, I think: Shit, He can see how fast I drive and that my average consumption is 11l/100km ^^ for a 525D

Sometimes a bit imbarassing, but I looove it so much to floor this beast, specially on AUTOBAHN

Isn't having that huge MJ pic on your sig even more embarrassing?

Eleven litres/100km is pretty bad. I average 13.5L/100km and mine's a 4.5 litre V8

Well,

Since about a month I want to shoot some decent pics of my ride,so the signature is a little anitquated.

Maybe I manage it to renew it this Weekend^^

Ontopic again: I think my high average is due to my 20" rims, and ,because I floor it that much

When it's winter here in Germany I take it slowlier and normally reach an average fuel consumption of 7-8l/100km..

Yeah I take it easy in winter too and my average improves from 13.5L/100km to a much more impressive 13.4L/100km
