I'd say give one of the smaller engined e60's a try before you disregard them. You might be surprised...
Dare I say you should perhaps try a Diesel out as well?

dont go for the 535i....not enough raw displacement or rumble/exhaust note...some things are just intangible but u know them when they are present. and if MPG isnt a factor for you....go test drive a used CPO M5 and i dare you find a way NOT to buy it. those things are like crack on wheels....if only i could afford one

However.. if you want a car that is much faster, lighter, more fuel efficient, and $8,000 to $10,000 less expensive, get a 535i & throw cheap tuner on it.

My '08 550 I just turned in had 26K miles, and my dealer offered to sell it to me at lease end for $33.5K...buyout was $37.5K.
Get the 550....you can find some sweet deals. The engine is solid, and it sounds great.

Looks like 550 is what most of you owner recommend, I will drop the 545 then.
So what about the 535i? Does it really save "that" much fuel ? I can check the numbers but I trust that real world driving would be more accurate.

I am gonna figure out how to import from US, if anyone is selling in near Seattle, WA/ West coast area, I may be able to drive back.

Until the ~$9,000 supercharger is available for the 550, every 535i w/ a cheap jb4 or similar is going to be considerably faster than any stock or modified 550 on this board...
Disclaimer: I'm referring only to the E60 550i. The F10 twin-turbo 550i is an absolute beast when tuned.
