Okay guys, I took my car to a BMW Auto Repair Specialist (Indy shop) on 4/14/11. After discussing about the prices for a new battery, IBS,negative battery cable and a remanufactured CCC, we agreed to a total out the door price of $1,600. Before the discussion was confirmed and decision made, the local BMW shop had already charged with $154.99 for a diagnostic test. When I went to pick up my car to take it to this Indy Shop, the dealer ended up charging me $298 because I changed my mind after I gave them the okay to start the work. All and all, I was okay with a total cost of $1,900 for everything.

Here is my problem:

The Indy shop forgot to take out my navigation disc from the old CCC. They said they don't know "when" Stearling BMW will send it back to them because the old core is probably already sent out to Germany to be refurbished. They said I can wait for the dvd or they can buy me another one at wholesale price; out of my pocket of course!

Should I be a push over and take the hit or should they be responsible for sending the old core back to Stearling BMW without removing my disc first? Retail price for the 2011 navigation discs is $199.99 plus tax.

Thank you in advance.

I think the dealer should take the hit for there mistake. You shouldn't have to pay for the dealers mistake plus they already made money off of your. You should just have them get the navi back at there own expense and sending if off again.

i think he mentioned the indepedent shop forgot the disc inside the unit.

sounds like an honest mistake, but the indy shop should cover it. or just burn a copy off the net.

I know it's an honest mistake made by the Indy Shop.

Just in case, can you provide me the website where I can burn a copy off the net? And will it be reliable?

Thank you in advance!
