I don't mean to bring back an old issue but are you saying prior to version 25, ALL CD players will continue playing the CDs after the car has been shut down? Or in other words, since my doesn't continue to play after I shut the car off, is it definitive that I have version 25 or later?
My single cd player, no sat nav, works perfectly and I'm on a very early version, probably 15.

If your car is running a okey, why should you have a never Progman version?

My DVD drive keeps spinning the NAV disc after I shut off my car. Is that a symptom of an older CIP version?

.................. he said it's a LOT faster.
I have v25 (from v22) - my Nav DVD intermittently is accessed (spins) during hibernation mode e.g. up to approx 15mins post key removal ? does not spin when car shuts down completely though.

As for being a lot faster - we'll in my opinion that?s a questionable claim - power up remains the same as do most responses to commands within my car (03-2006) - that said with v25 if you shut down with say Nav screen in view then v25 will power up to this screen perhaps giving the impression of faster load, however iDrive appears to need further time to fully load - My observation is by re-ordering the way commands are processed this has affected the impression of speed overall, maybe?

I can't be sure of the relevence here, however as an example of the re-ordering in v25 when issuing the voice command to play CD 1 track 3, prior to v25 the verbal response would be returned CD 1 track 3, then the changer could be heard loading the CD; with v25 the CD changer can be heard loading prior to the verbal response being heard - rather annoyingly this can partially mask the first few seconds of the track requested as the system changes from verbal response to playing the CD, not an improvement! - IMO it still appears to take the same time to begin playing the track ??? perhaps my car is not a stable example though - it has serious iDrive 'instability' problems right now; iDrive crashes and re-boots when it feels like it!! Two CCC's and other parts later it still has the problem! (Actually the problem began after driving away from the dealers post the V25 upgrade..............)

There was no fix till April 2007.

ABC
That is true but there was more to it then that. They also did not take the time to test it. They pretty much had my car in an dout in just a few minutes without even really trying. They said they did not see anything wrong. Their parts department were clueless when I would call about parts that I had the part number for. Unfortunatly, I had to drive 90 minutes to them for service and they were the closest place to where I used to live. I was very unimpressed with their service compared to Schaal BMW in Bitburg. Luckily I never have to return to their dealership.
