Tell them ur CD player is still running after you shut off the car. That was fixed in v25.0
Also, will the new CIP version make it compatible with the iPod adapter? I got quoted $700 by several dealers because they said they had to reprogram my car. Seems like a rip off to me when the unit only costs $250 and they want an additional $450 for software upgrade and labor?

I suggest you look over the E60 related service bulletins listed in the following message:
http://forums.e60.net/index.php?s=&sho...st&p=422635
Once you find an issue that your car has that's been fixed by a software update, just complain to the dealer that you have the issue.
You can view specific service bulletins by following the instructions here:

When you guys say the CD is still running after you shut off, does it mean it continue to spin? Or do you mean the next time you listen to CD it's on a different part of the track or on a totally different track? From what I understand, if you mute (pause), the CD player will spin but the laser doesn't move, whereas if you say the CD plays a different track, it means the CD spun and the laser moved.
Also, how can you say to your SA that your CD continues to play if it isn't, doesn't he or she check?

Of course if you don't have this fault (you are already on Progman 25 or later), you are unlikely to be able to use this reason.

Is there a way to display on iDrive how to show what CIP version is running?
This is nice, I have been so out of this forum it is really helpful again. I was a comlainer on the cd running after I was upgraded to 19 but the idiots at Autoplex BMW in Amarillo had no clue how to fix it.

I don't mean to bring back an old issue but are you saying prior to version 25, ALL CD players will continue playing the CDs after the car has been shut down? Or in other words, since my doesn't continue to play after I shut the car off, is it definitive that I have version 25 or later?
