What is the easy way to cancel a navigation route?

For me (I have voice recognition) I just hit the VR button and say "Cancel guidance". Works like a champ. Beyond that I haven't really found a good or easy way to cancel it either.

In the map or arrow view, there are toolbar icons on the side. Choose the "arrow with a cricle" one and press it. The route should be terminated.

Thanks I've been using the voice recognition more and more only because sometimes it is easier to say it while driving than to go threw the menu and find it.

I just need to remember the correct words in this case "Cancel guidance"

I don't think "cancel guidance" works, at least it doesn't for me. I think you need to say "stop guidance". When I say "cancel guidance" the system thinks I'm simply trying to cancel the current command.

+1 this always works for me, just move the iDrive controller to the left and select the icon from the menu

<slaps forehead> Yup... it's "stop guidance". Shows how much I really use the nav anyway

I'm with you there...

I'd rather use my phone, easier, voice input, Traffic updates, and always has the latest version. But it is always good to have a backup or when the wife drives the car.
