Sorry still a little new to the BMW navigation. So going threw some growing pains BMW navi is a little harder to use than some of the other cars I had.

For me (I have voice recognition) I just hit the VR button and say "Cancel guidance". Works like a champ. Beyond that I haven't really found a good or easy way to cancel it either.

I don't think "cancel guidance" works, at least it doesn't for me. I think you need to say "stop guidance". When I say "cancel guidance" the system thinks I'm simply trying to cancel the current command.

"Guidance Off" works for me everytime.

<slaps forehead> Yup... it's "stop guidance". Shows how much I really use the nav anyway

I'd rather use my phone, easier, voice input, Traffic updates, and always has the latest version. But it is always good to have a backup or when the wife drives the car.
