I've discovered that my car is very sensitive to the type of DVDs I am burning and also to the brand.

Working
Samsung Pleomax 8x DVD-R - works most of the time

Not working
Samsung Pleomax 8x DVD+R - works at start, but after some time, it starts to throw some errors, then it cannot play the rest of the songs but neither those who were working at the beginning. At some point, one DVD remained inside and could not get it out until I stopped the car for a while.

What are you guys using?

PS If there's interest, I will centralize all answers.

Please do mention the brand and model of the DVD along the type. I've discovered that not *any* DVD-R will do. Maybe it matters also the burning speed, but I've no ideea.

I just hope that collective experience will make it easy for all of us.

People will be less interested if they have no problems.

Additionally: there are just too many "brand names" but only a few "manufacturers" of media so unless people have a method of knowing who made their media (not its brand name) - you could use DVDInfoPro for example - the exercise has little merit especially as different drives have different tolerances.

This is very interesting. Although, +RW works in my drive, I had some failures. I will buy some Philips +RWs and give them a shot.

It's not really important. I am interested in what is written on the DVD disk or box, so we all know what should work and what should not. I wanted to buy recently some disks and I was puzzled about what to buy.

I know what you want.

I am pointing out that what is written on the box is not enough. In fact many "box brands" are only available in very few territories.

On the other hand all MANUFACTURERS sell in all territories.

It is also known that sometimes the box name is the same but the manufacter and recording dye used changes - potentially presenting new compatabilty issues.

So are you telling me that trial by error is the only method of finding compatible media?
