Don't put the CA fob in the steering wheel. Its battery is not rechargeable. There is one situation, described in the Owner's Manual, when you would put a CA fob in the steering wheel, but this is very rare. I think it has something to do with re-synching something. Can't remember exactly.

Nonsense, you can put the CA fob in the car anytime. Also, if you want to put the car in neutral and turn it off the key fob must be inserted. e.g. at an auto car wash

I love the comfort access on my car and it was the number two feature i wanted (number one sport package). Its nice to not have to use your key and the key remembers your radio stations, seat placement and a bunch of other cool options.
