Not enough clearance to use Rhino Ramps.

Was thinking about fabricating some sort of "step" board to get enough height for the ramps or just using two hydraulic floor jacks.

I'd appreciate any input from someone who has already done this.

I used a piece of 2x10x14 lumber to add 1.5-inch ground clearance. I had the older gray Rhino Ramps.

Works well for my E60 Sport and E90 Sport.

I use 2x4 scraps to get it up on the ramps. Works like a charm.

There's a jacking point under the engine (you should see a black flat rectangular jack pad) Maybe you can jack up from there then slide your ramps under the wheels.

I use a floor jacka and jack stands. Really, every DIY'er should have a floor jack and stands. Much easier than ramps.

Had similar problem getting my Roadster up on mine ... built these out of 2x8's.

Thanks for the responses - the pics of the wooden boards was exactly what I had in mind.

It all depends on what you are doing. Obviously if you are taking the wheels off then a jack and stands are necessary. But its definitely easier to drive on to ramps than it is to spot and lift each side using a jack and then place the stands.

BTW I do have them though
