I've been looking in the last 2 months to get into a e60 550i. The price seems a bit high for a 530xi, talk them down to about 28k. Off topic, the members who know about 08 550i's in the 38k range, pm me

Wow, are 08 550s really going for 38,000 with sport package? That is probably without Navi, logic 7, etc.

When I was looking at 06s, I saw a few 07s that were going anywhere from 39-45,000.

Depends on where you live. If you're either in California or the northeast, you're getting a great deal. In fact, it may be too good of a deal. What people are failing to realize is that you are getting a low mileage CPO with all wheel drive. The all-wheel drive alone will add a couple of Ks over the rear wheel version. True, you could get a V8 for comparable money, but then you are talking more gas consumption and possibly more and more costly engine problems. Your call, but $31,500 sounds very fair for the size engine, mileage, and trim. You might want to google other dealers in the area for prices.

Good luck

The 38-42k range he posted is based on national auctions. If they're advertising that car for 45k then they have +/- 5k of profit factored into that price.

You're right, you have to give them a small profit margin. Offer them 41.

(I say this only after checking what they paid for that car. Some of the people commenting on how good some of these deals are way too naive and aren't realizing just how bad the car market is.)
