I would buy that car for 30-31k

 

impossible in NYC .. kbb is giving me $38k for this car.

 

It may sound like a good price but you will get a better offer elsewhere, for an example Park Ave BMW in Jersey. 15mins away off the GW Bridge. You dont want to buy a car from a NYC dealership, they ask for too much, and you have to consider with all the potholes in NYC, how well did the previous owner drive through it the last two years.

I don't know the shape of the car or if there was previous damage/accident (see Carfax) but this sounds like a pretty beast price. I paid a good chunk more than that for my 2010 535i with xDrive a few weeks ago but it did have 80% of the 48/50k (due to a late purchase) and only had 6k miles. I spent a while looking at '08 and '09 535xi's and didn't really see any in that range. Well I saw none in that range but price is negotiable... so even with some negotiations I doubt they'd reach even 35k for what you've described (in great shape). It seems stuff in NJ is priced cheaper than down here in the DC area though, so not sure how much that comes into play.

If you're going to drive in snow and what not at all.. the AWD is the only way to go.
