I've made a few posts about my unhappiness about the 18x8 wheels offered with the Sportpackage. I've got one on order.

I've decided to put Style 124 wheels on the car, as I think they're the best understated wheels available for the E60.

Am I wrong to do this to the highly anticipated Sportspackage?

I think it will look great! The combination of the 124 style wheels with the sportpackage will make it look more aggresive.

Post pics when you get your car!

I agree, will look great! The style 124 is the standard wheel for the 545 w/ Sports Package here in the US.

Hi nomad,
Just out of curiosity, how much did you pay for the extra wheel swap?

The 124's will be excellent. I like them a lot more.

Sorry about the delay in getting back. Been working like a dog! If it can go wrong, it did.

Spoken to the dealer who is seeing if they can do some sort of trade-off with the stock wheels. I'm hoping I can get it down to about ?500, but if not, I do have the part numbers and can buy the wheels off the shelf and put my own choice of tyre on it, so I may be posting to ask about the tyres people find gives the best ride.

An example of saving that can be had when you buy it through BMW parts dept rather than dealer fit option is as follows.

101M Wheels (dealer fit) = ?3425 = $6135

Compare
101M front wheel = 36 11 6 761 988 = ?421 each = ?842
101M rear wheel = 36 11 6 761 989 = ?440 each = ?880
Tyres - full set - Falken - web purchase - local fit = ?660

Total = ?2380

A saving of ?1045 or $1872

So I'm also considering using this route with the 124 wheels and selling the 135M's on ebay. I'm waiting to hear what the dealer has to say about the swap possibilities first, so no fixed price as yet.
