I've had it on both my E60's, almost never put it down. Really helps with the heat...

I have a 2004 pre-LCI model, would this of been an option for this year?
I dont know if i have it or not, howcan i find out?

Yes, my car is a 2004 and I have it.

If you have it, there will be a button under/behind the window switches that makes the rear one go up/down. The doors are manual. The ones that cover the retractable glass go up/down, and the ones that cover the smaller glass go side/side.

I actually put it up last night on my way home from work, and I must say, I don't like it at night. Headlights behind me are actually BRIGHTER because it blocks JUST enough light that the electro-chromatic mirror doesn't auto-tint...

I have the one's that pop in and out of the window for my touring. They work great for my little guy. He can still roll down the window and not be able to throw things out of it.

As of now, I only have the rear windows. I still want to get the back windows but have no need for the rear window one.

I ordered mine from Gary and got the 25% discount for mentioning the e60.net board.

Hi

Rear sunshade can be retrofitted , I have done it , it's costly , but it can be done .

If you want to do it the OEM BMW way , you will need the elektric sunshade and the hat shelf for it, thereto you will have to purchase new contact cluster in the drivers door ( the one with the sunshade button ) , and the cluster one in front of the gearlever ( the one with Seatheat /DTC / PDC contact's etc. ).

You can also choose to do it the easy/cheep way , here you use the contact from a E39 to control the sunshade ( put the contact in the littel glovecompartment beside the steeringwheel ) , then you save about 4-500 USD. ( you then don't need the 2 other contact clusters )

Good luck with your project's in this direction

I would also be interested, do you have the part numbers needed? also on a side not how did you get the wiring harness to retrofit Logic 7? was it difficult to do? the amp and speakers seem easy enough but no one seems to have the necessary wiring - I would love to know how you did it

Thanks - much appreciated

A pic? You're kidding, right? It's not hidden. If there's no button there, then you don't have the option.

There is another option...
The non powered BMW OEM e60 Sunshade....

I swear by it ( black leather metallic grey car in the deep south.... ).
you can order it from Gary at Newport BMW for around $230 or so , and it takes about 2-3 hours to install yourself.

There are several threads in the mod section , and I have helped several members install them... It requires removal of the the rear deck in the rear window for the install, as well as the trim from the "C" pillars and rear airbag covers for the retaining clips.. Sounds hard but it's not .

There are no BMW side retrofit ones , but if you got the cash you can always install what every you want.

Do yourself a favor and just tint your car instead. I do have the power rear sunshade and use the feature all the time. Mostly for privacy.

The hat-helf and the electrical sun-shade I did buy at E-bay for 175.-Euro , the E39 sun-shade switch I got at a BMW scraptyard for 10.-Euro , to buy the pices by BMW would cost a lot thereto you will have to purchase all the parts as singel parts , it can't be bouth as a complet set.

Pin's for the E39 sun-shade switch is as follows :

Pin 1 = Instrument light + ( power )

Pin 2 = Not in use

Pin 3 = To sun-shade

Pin 4 = Power over ACC ( T15 )

Pin 5 = - ( Ground )

Pin 6 = To sun-shade

How the 2 wire's from the sun-shade are connected to Pin 3 & 6 is of no importence.

Rgarding the wire harness for the Logic7 , I did buy a used DSP wire-harness from a E38 on E-bay ( from a E38 can also be used ) then I altered it to fit in the car , no big deal , I did let the OEM harness in my car ( E60 ) stay , can then in no time switch back if nessecery.

Regards
