Since we're speaking of the side shades as well, I'm also one of the ones who never puts them down. The only real time they go down is when my kids put them down but daddy has them trained very well and they usually remember to put them back up before we get out of the car. (if they forget, daddy almost always remembers to remind them...)

Have one and never use it.... Always just me in the car.

It is pretty cool though.

Haven't used mine once since tinting the windows, but a cool feature nonetheless.

I love it! It's great in the summer, and also great for blocking blinding light from irresponsible/forgetful people who leave their brights on at night.

I love it. As a matter of fact that's one of the main reasons I bought mine. Keep the inside cool, further reduce the light beams from behind, looks cool from outside especially when comparing to those who use stick-on rear shade

I REALLY wish I had the shade. My car is black and sits in the sun a good bit. I use a windshield shade religiously, and REALLY wish I had the shade for the rear. IF there is a retrofit...money would be no object...I would get it for sure. However, I don't believe there is a retrofit or dealer option that can be added. Someone please tell me different.

Isn't it odd how someone can have something (rear sunshade) and not care anything at all about it...and others (myself) would give $$ for the same thing.

Hi

Rear sunshade can be retrofitted , I have done it , it's costly , but it can be done .

If you want to do it the OEM BMW way , you will need the elektric sunshade and the hat shelf for it, thereto you will have to purchase new contact cluster in the drivers door ( the one with the sunshade button ) , and the cluster one in front of the gearlever ( the one with Seatheat /DTC / PDC contact's etc. ).

You can also choose to do it the easy/cheep way , here you use the contact from a E39 to control the sunshade ( put the contact in the littel glovecompartment beside the steeringwheel ) , then you save about 4-500 USD. ( you then don't need the 2 other contact clusters )

Good luck with your project's in this direction
