My Ride: E60 550i
Model Year: 2010
Default What to do look for before warranty expires?

I added second 550i to our fleet. A year ago we bought 09 550i for my wife after a long search on my side (features, options, vehicle). I fall in love with this car when I first drove it several years ago. Today we bought 10 550i for me. It's a great news! Though the bad news is that the warranty coming to an end next week. I've scheduled appointment at BMW dealer to do final check. Steering wheel cover/airbag sticker needs to be replaced.
What are the common things you guys recommend to check for?
This vehicle was serviced a few months ago. They did vehicle check: brake fluid change, vipers, microfilter (is that cabin filter?), did couple recalls: brake booster line and battery cable connection. I don't know if they topped off all fluids. I noticed today while driving the car the engine oil wasn't around max. Do they typically check/refill fluids?
According to onboard computer engine oil change is due in 11000 miles.
Also front breaks are due in 7000 miles, rear brake pads are due in 37000 miles (changed last year).

Im not sure if your model has the plastic Electronic water pump. I just found out its a very very common part that goes bad. I just ordered a new one that's not made of plastic.

Have them check the oil pan, tranny pan, mechatronic sleeve for signs of leaks, look for coolant leaks on the over flow pipe and all hoses. Have them check for valve cover leaks, and timing covers. Even if u don't have a leak tell them u saw oil on the drive way, and they will go thru the car looking for it in all the typical locations. I did that and they found leaks I didn't know I had and fixed them. ended up getting valve covers done a new tranny pan and fluid plus timing covers too.

awesome. Thank you guys. No leaks were found. I also had car inspected by local mechanic prior to taking it to dealership.
