The CIC has an HD screen and a hard drive for storing the navigation maps. The CIC also has a different controller - which was available for the 2009s. As a 2004 you have the CCC.

I have a 2008 and went with the CCC after lots of discussion and thinking hard about it. The CIC is much better but from what I was told can be a lot more difficult to install, and you wil probably lose some features in the car... The CCC for me was nearly a simple plug and play. At them moment I've lost my iPod and SAT radio but this will come back as soon as the car is properly coded. other than that everything else seems to work as its supposed to. So MANY thanks to Chase and David for their help and anyone else that chimed in.

If you have a choice go with the CIC. The CIC is not exactly lightyears ahead (as many people describe it) but its definately much better than the CCC. But believe it or not there were features in the CCC that have been removed in the CIC for no obvious reason.

I intend to keep my car for another 2-3 years so for me the CIC upgrade seemed good.
