Could you be more specific about "left hand side light" ?? I looked at the lamp assembly the other day because I was also thinking to upgrade the bulb to 5000k too (not 6000k).? It looked like that the whole lamp assembly has to be taken out before the lower beam bulb can be accessed.? High beam bulb can be changed without the removal of the lamp assembly.? There are 2 screws on the top of the lamp assembly to hold it in place.? Not sure about the bottom side of the assembly.

Any owner has removed the E60 lamp assembly successfully to replace the low beam bulb ?? If there is, could he/she provide the detail instruction to do that ??

Thanks,

Ching-Ho Cheng

FYI--the xenons on the E60 are bi-xenon headlights, meaning there is only 1 xenon bulb per headlight, and a mirror which moves to change from low beam to high beam. The xenon bulb is the one closest to the side of the car. The bulb closest to the center of the car is used as the day time driving light (which isn't illuminated when the headlights are on) and is only lit when your headlights are off and you have day time driving lights activated, or when you flash-to-pass.
