When I was choosing the car...I was also looking at the CLS500. Styling wise both inside out the mercedes wins big time. But I bought the e60 for the powerful 4.4 v8 the 545 gives...the 6 speed transmission and knowledge of the fact that it would blow andy CLS 500 off the highway and the twisties....

My Ride: 545i Orient Blue, Auburn Int. Sport Pkg, Premium Pkg, Satellite Radio, Logic 7 , Nav... European Delivery 3/21/05 Redelivery 6/1/05.

Actually my wife wanted a BMW since she was 18 yrs old. She just turned 50 and I surprised her for her B'day with a new 545i. I was looking at 3 series, but saw the 5 sitting in the showroom and couldnt resist its appeal. Took a test drive and the rest is history. I ordered a European Delivery and took her to Germany and gave the car to her over there. Boy did I get a lot of points for that!!
Now even though it's supposedly her car... we often fight over who gets to drive it. So I guess I am going to have to get one of my own... real soon!

My Ride: Face-lifted E46 Toruing, soon to be replaced by E60!
![Default](https://5series.net/forums/images/icons/icon1.gif)
Having owned my E60 for only (checking the watch
...) 17 HOURS, I have to admit I fell in love with the model the very first time I saw one.
When I decided my E46 had to go, I was looking at Mercedes E-class and the new Audi A6, but they didn't even come close to the feeling you get when you walk up to an E60 - a mean looking, come-and-get-me design and a superb driving machine, all in one package.
I just love it! My 4th BMW so far...

Two things; the eyebrows and the technology. What other car has that look?
Anyway, unfortunately, it is also the technology's hiccups that may force me to re-think my hoice at the end of the day.

At first I did not like the new design, but it has grown on me. I was looking for a new car to replace the E39 and was looking at MB & Audi.(Very nice cars but do not excite me when I look at them <_< ) My dealer had a new E60 with M-package on the dealer showroom floor and showed me the upgrades compared to the E39 and then we did a test drive and I was sold!
After 2 weeks of driving I am loving it more and more!
Granted, it has its flaws, but it is a technology wonder compared to other car manufactures! And this has its price
(bugs!)
