When I first saw images of the new 5 I wasn't very taken with it, but once I saw the car in person it grew on me quickly. After waiting for the R6 power upgrade, I pulled the trigger on my car. I'm in love with the styling and to be honest, I signed my paperwork before I ever took a test drive.

I picked the E60 because it satisfied all my requirements: status, looks, performance, handling, high-tech features, economy, depreciation resistance, etc...

The #1 reason you bought the car was the styling am I correct?? That's what got me.? Reason I ask is, I seem to be the only person in my age group (late 20's? ), in my area, that really appreciates the E60s design (interior and exterior).? Speaking only from my friends and observing other E60 owners in my area all w/ blueish white hair...?

I've had plenty of Mercedes and the W211 was just too plain for me.? I needed something more masculine, more menacing.? The E60 was that car.? And oh, yes it handles beautifully also.

Question is, would you have bought the E60 if it looked like a Volvo?? Me, probably not.

First of all I found bull$hit that Bangle critism although we here in EU really see da US stylin' but is it ok as it is kool

Ok seriously the most perfect lines, B C part of body, the bottom of the bb and a dynamic unique GERMAN style with sportiness, agressivity and elegance.

INOVATION, safety and QUALITY and those who claim and whine : that quality is not ok it cheap etc. why the .*>*>*>*> they do not buy a MAybach or Bentley

Welcome aboard H-Wood!

I like front and 3/4 front view of the car. It looks sooo stuntning. Instrument cluster looks good. I don't like the rear until I installed the rear reflector. It looks good now.
After owning the car, I both hate it and LOVE it. I hate it because of slow throttle response compared to toyota and honda, cheap interior design. I LOVE it because it handle like a dream and very stable at speed.

When I first purchased my E39(see attachment) the 04 was just coming out and I realy liked the new body style but was concern about buying the first new model year. Everytime I saw a E60 on the road I kept saying I need to get one. Waited 2 yrs. and test drove the car came back to the dealership and worked the numbers and 3hrs later she was mine. I like the idrive, the performance and the technology.

I had an E34 getting old. For me the E39 did not represent enough innovation toward the last series of E34, and my wife found the trunk too small for a family with 3 children so I had to wait... for the E60 !
But my wife still misses the great comfort of the E34.

I needed a new 5, my 1995 e34 went to my wife. I was not that interested in the looks, much more interested in engine, suspension and transmission. I think there are a number of better looking sedans out there in the market. But behind the wheel, the e60 is very good looking.

Ditto... expressed perfectly!

Any 5 series that comes out I know the driving dynamics and technology will be top notch. Coming from an e28 and an e39 you only appreciate a 5er even more when you are able to sit behind the wheel of a new one. With my e60, it gives me a different satisfaction and pleasure than my e39, and my e39 different from my e28, but when I drive my e60, so long as I dont close my eyes I can grip the wheel and feel those cars as well. Only real difference I realized with the e60 is that it is more of what some call an "aquired taste"... I aquired it, and love it, however I still find myself needing some more adjustment with the "DAMN EDNA" headlights. Anyhow, the e60 rules!!!

I was attracted to the E60 by its driving dynamics and it's... interior Before I saw the official E60 design, I was hoping it would look similar to the E39. So when I finally saw the official pictures, I was a bit disappointed; I didn't like the rear lights too much. Eventually after seeing more and more pictures and seeing it in the skin, I love the design very much. There is no better looking 4 door sedan than the E60.
