I have a few things I would like to be different on my 545i. I wonder what things you would like to be different on your 5 series car. I would like to get a feel for what others think are desired improvements for the 5 series. Below is my initial list. I'm sure it will change after seeing yours.
1. Crisper shifting of step tranny in sport mode.
2. Ability to keep step tranny in desired gear at least when approaching red line (i.e., let REV limiter shut me down if I go too far)
2. ZSG gearbox availability (for next purchase)
3. More HP of course (want to keep up with the Joneses)
4. A dedicated "back button" for the iDrive--one allowing going back many steps
5. Voice recognition with enhanced ability to understand what is said
6. Modified sport mode on step tranny to downshift to M1 automatically even after manual shifting has been engaged
7. "Dustless" brakes
8. Edit--biggie forgotten before--The ability to completely disengage traction control and, at the same time, leave stability control engaged.
9. Edit--forgotten before--More of the standard sorts of gauges--e.g., water temp., battery, oil temp, etc. Or maybe a scroll feature to show such things.

I concur on some of yours, my list is not really developed yet since I've only been driving mine for about 1400 miles so far. I find the console storage compartment to be cumbersome with the inner storage compartment wasting up a lot of the space. I don't know, no biggee. I wish there was a place for coins inside there, but again, no biggee...

As time goes on, I think of more things. It dawns on me that what I'd really like to see is a higher performance version of the now 550i--in effect, a factory modded 550i. The result would be far short of an M5, but still a much higher performance 550i. It would come with additional weight savings including lighter wheels and tires, higher performance non-runflats, more assertive exhaust, chippping, adjustable suspension (including height), LSD, etc., etc. In short, I'd like a factory model that would encompass all the usual mods and more. Having such a model would keep us from modding and would leave us with no after-market equipment warranty problems. How much would such a model be worth to you? I'm thinking maybe $7.500. What will the new M5 list for/cost when released?
