I'm going to leave my tires on for awhile.

First, taking them off will virtually ensure that there will be a late-season snow.
Second, I need to give the patching crews time to fill more pot holes.

However, I did walk over and look at my 172's piled in the corner of the garage yesterday.

End of March is the date for me, 2 more weeks and the wait will be over.

Were I in your shoes, I would indeed follow the same course of action.

I just miss my 19" Style 172 wheels.

I think I will still try to find time this week (busy week, I have to intergrate a Buick luncheon on Tuesday and the Auto Show Wed. morning into the work week).
Ohhhhhhh, the Buick luncheon!! I guess if a lot of their customers are invited they'll have to serve soup and other easy to digest foods.

That is an especially good reason this year around Chicago - pot holes here are by far the nastiest ever.

I usually wait until temperatures are consistently above 45 degrees F - otherwise the summer tires are like rocks. So, around here that means waiting until about mid-April.

Yep, pot holes. No way I'd put the low profile 18" summers on till they fix and cleanup the roads. This is the last year for my 17" winter tires ... 6 years of great value, so I'm leaving them on till May.

Mid April for me - mostly because I want to give the crews time to fix the potholes. I did drain the gas and change the oil in the snowblower yesterday, so we will surely get one more dump before it's over.

I agree -- funny thing for me was that since draining the snowblower of fuel last year, I never actually put any into it this year. We'll see if I end up jinxing myself now or not...
