I am really nervous and excited about the car at the bodyshop for an install. I am getting the entire m kit installed and painted plus the rear RDS spoiler. I hope the bodyshop doesn't give me any shit about finish, fitment, color matching etc. I hope they get it right the first time and make it look good. I will stop down and see if I can snap some pics.

Day - problem 1...Afte the body shop tried to test fit the parts on the car, they said the bumper requires light modifications to fit on the car. To do so, this has taken my original estimate of 950 - 1465...Am I being screwed or should I just let them do the work...This shop id notorius for being expensive, but they are good.

Generally, you get what you pay for. If the final product pleases you, it's worth the extra coin imho.

Im going to let him finish as he already started but when I pick up I am going to negotiate...if I have to pay, oh well...He won't see a dollar unless it is perfect.

i guess it all depends on the modifications he has to do to make it fit good. some shops would just 3m tape the shit on with a few self taping screws and call it a day. meanwhile none of the lines meet up with the oem lines and it looks like dick. like u said if it aint perfect neg that price lower even tho hes gonna tell u they did everything they could to make it fit as good as possible

so I just got back from body shop. Price is now at 1750$ a 750$ departure from initial estimate. He said he had to modify the following pieces which I will post. I know this is not true because Joe at Trinity works with these everyday and said the guys is wrong. Also, I am attaching my estimate to see if someone can tell me where he is smacking me on price. Lastly, he said if I can get estimates for the same work to show him and he can use that to negotiate with boss. Does anyone have a copy of their estimate or can anyone write me an estimate that is a lot better than this so I can use it to lower my cost?

pics below

Pieces he wants to modify

This is BS. I have my car there, its already torn apart, of course I am going to pay, but When I spoke to the owner, he said he has been doing bodywork for 40 years and the guy working on my car has been doing it for 30 and is not "some young punk..." He also said that he deals with "atheletes" and they deal with the same thing...He goes on to talk about fitment and quality of these aftermarket parts and how they are never right. He said he is yet to do one that fit right. I explained that there are over 100 on here with no modification and he said that if they do not have the same build date as my car then you can't compare because sometimes they just fit different. I was sick of arguing so I just told him to call Joe at Trinity tomm. so he can explain why they don't need modified. Joe I hope the pictures help....BTW a note about joe, throughout this process I have had to call Joe at Trinity numerous times and he answers my calls more than my wife does, so special thanks to Joe. Also, I got my first look at the quality of these pieces and they are awesome. When this is done, it will look great.

What should I do now? Can someone mock me up an estimate that is lower so I can use it to negotiate?

BTW those small modifications, he is trying to charge 331$ for...
Also below are a few fitment pics of the skirts (perfect) and a pic of front bumper because it looks so good.

Why do I feel like my car needs to go 1 inch lower???? I am out of $$$$
