weird symbols on my Navi

So, before i updated my 2005 navi DVD to a 2011 on Ebay, i saw 'X's on my map in sporadic places, now knives n forks everywhere?? What are these?
I thought maybe where speed traps, red light cameras are? Restaurants? This is not the case... theyre placed random places where nothing is.

I believe places to eat... you probably have some POI (Points of Interest)settings...

it changes based on the last thing you searched for. if you were looking for restaurants, it will show knives and forks. if you searched for gas, it will show gas stations.

Hey bro when you see all the little gas stations and forks and kinives it is POI (points of interest) it will display whatever you searched for last.
if you want to get rid of them push the iDrive wheel over to the right when ur in the Navi mode and scroll the wheel doen to the "i" and press down on the wheel. it will then put a / slash over the "i" and all those little POI''s will disappear =)
