Understand what you mean by value of features vs. personal fit... I drive a fair bit for work, country-wide (London travel is mostly by public transport & I live close)

I often go to Europe - Germany at Christmas, France last summer and planned again this summer, etc. so it is really of use to me to have Nav

That said, I would have loved dynamic drive & xenon, and maybe a little of that active cruise control (as long as I stay awake whilst on auto-pilot) but the pricing is just silly - my car comes in near ?30k, the 2.5 & 3.0 are +?5k more to start with so kitted the same would be ?35k... one could easily spend ?5 or ?10k more and still not have the works...

Nice car - expensive car...

Here's a pic of an e60 I had for a few days while my car was in the garage, had clear tail lights and a spoiler. I actually thought it didn't look that bad....

It's intresting about residuals and sat nav, where I stay in scotland I would probably hardly ever need to use it, instead I plumped for dynamic drive to improve the handling. Now if I stayed down in London I can see the benefit.

Another thing to think about is that some extras can be retrofitted where others are factory fit only. i.e. Adaptive headlights can be retrofitted but dynamic drive, active steering etc can't. I'm sure there's a list around somewhere with dealer fit options.

Thanks for the photo - I think it looks alright but the wife thinks it makes it look like something it's not - or a bit common!

Why is it that once out of Nova GTE's u can't have a spolier - and anyway it makes it easier to see the back of the car when reversing!

Guys - opinions on this would be greatly appreciated - a kind of taste poll!

haven't heard from the dealer so worrying about when delivery will occur!!

As for the spoiler, well, a Carerra 4s with an automatic one that comes up when required and actually does what a spoiler is intended to do (particularly at 150mph+ on the authbahn), well, that spoiler is okay by me.

A spoiler that doesn't 'spoil' actually spoils the looks

I would probably be inclined to a simple little duck-tail lip spoiler, like what BMW puts on the E46 M3 and E39 M5. Nothing too gaudy or ostentatious like the Hamann one, just something that might bring the tail "up" a bit visually.

Jonboy - listen to the Command Bunker! She clearly has an idea of what comprises good taste. IMHO, spoilers are a bit 1980s - in other words, brash, a bit over the top, and, with hindsight, a thoroughly bad idea. Just like a 545 ;-)

To be blunt, as per my name, you are NOT Bangle... and if he didn't think a little upturned lip was required to bring the tail "up" a bit visually I will bank on his design skills and designer's eyes ... when I want advice about gold link bracelets and polyester, however, I will come running to you.

Mr Blunt

You are indeed v blunt. Now I don't want to upset any forum members but I am indeed a fan of polyester - particularly in slacks matched with a nice cardigan - If indeed you do need advice in this fashion arena than come to Alan Partridge - an as yet undiscovered fashion icon.

yes you can forget Lexus - 5 series 545i with executive spolier is de-rigour

Please see below a selection of my slacks running left to right Monday through to Friday.

I'm doing this in good faith so don't want any nasty replies.

BTW - notice the exceptionally good crease I have achieved by using by DuPont Crease Master.
