Sounds good... But if it's not enough, why don't you get one of JDN's big A$$ flashlights and point it out the rear window?
Plug it into the the rear 12V jack and feed the wire through the ski sack - easy, No?

Maybe I can duct tape the light on the trunk, drill a hole through the trunk lid and jack into the reverse light sockets. I have A Silver Grey car so the Duct tape should blend in.

i was electrical engineer for many years and
if you go from a 16watt lamp to a 50w lamp then the current (amps will more than treble 16watts at 12 volts = 1.33 amps
50watts at 12 volts - 4.166amps
4 amps is not a lot of current but i would expect the lamp monitoring circuit to think there is something wrong with three times the expected current and also may even blow the light circuit fuse not advisable
