I wanted to check out what the hoopla is all about :-)
I added AUX cable on this car, so, I am familiar with removing the dashboard components. It took me less than 10 minutes to add the cable.
My car is NOT equipped with active steering or dynamic drive. So, no surprise that I didn't feel any difference in terms of feel of the steering or suspension handling.

However, the pickup is noticeable right from the get go. It looks like the car is staying in lower gear lot longer. I've used DS mode on this car extensively, so, I am very familiar with how the car drives/handles in DS. Sport mode is different from DS.

Once you press that button, it stays in sport mode until restart; I would've liked to turn off the feature when I don't feel like driving aggressively. Essentially, you can't turn off sport mode without restarting the car. That's a bummer.

Last thing I noticed is that when you change the gear to Reverse, the 'sport' doesn't display on the dashboard. As soon as you change the gear to Drive, the 'sport' is displayed again.

Overall, I guess it's not a bad mod for 10 minutes of work.

I don't have active steering nor dynamic drive as well. However, I get a stiffer steering after the mod. It's most noticeable at slower speeds going around corners. I guess the mod affects the cars differently depending on what other options you have or not.

balbs, if the car doesn't have active steering or dynamic drive, IMHO, there is no adjustment this mod can do to alter the way steering feels. Think about the components that are connected to steering.

That's exactly what I thought before I did the mod. However, my car's steering did feel stiffer. It's even hard to maneuver and park the car in a parking stall with the sport button on since the steering is hard. Turning it back off made it go back to normal and can park the car easily. Definitely not a placebo. ;p

My car is an 06' (made 11/2005). What's yours?

BTW, I have Servotronic which regulates how hard (not how much) you have to turn the wheel at certain speeds. Maybe that's what the mod is messing with. Servotronic is different from active steering. Servotronic controls how hard you have to turn the wheel at certain speeds and Active steering controls how much you have to turn the wheel at certain speeds.
