Just finished on my 2004 pre LCi model 530i 6 speed manual. I used oem parts such as the sport switch and tray. I didn't notice any steering wheel affect, heavier or anything else (probably because i am lacking a servotronic) but the throttle response is noticeable more responsive than before like installing a sprint booster!!! Connections are the same as in first page mentioned for pre LCI cars. I have M5 cluster instruments so no "SPORT" indication there just the light of the switch goes on when you press the switch.

Just did this to my 2003 E60 520i and the steering hasn´t changed but the throttle response is a lot crisper, however , the revs take a lot longer to drop. Downshifts are ok but upshifts are jerky. This only happens when I activate the Sport mode otherwise I´d be under the bonnet looking for vacuum leaks. Anybody got any ideas??

Default Please help

So I followed the steps and instead of seeing just one plug that I have to unplug and connect the cord too, I see these 3 on the bottom and one on top and don't know which to plug the switch into? Anyone that has had this please help!

US car

Thanks!

Edit: figured it out.

After reading all the reviews, i've decided to perform this mod. I watched roskinc's vid on how to install and used 22 gauge wire, female crimp-on tabs, heat shrink tube, and a momentary push button that i bought at radio shack. very simple install
Overall I'm happy with this mod, seems bizarre to me that it's a hidden feature, anyway when sport mode engaged i noticed fairly dramatic improvements in throttle response(no need to buy a sprint booster anymore), steering stiffness, and gear ratio as stated by previous enthusiasts.
THANKS to OP for making this happen!

I can vouch for the install on pins 8 and 10. Worked exactly as the youtube install vid said. Makes a huge difference to a number of aspects. Very easy to install for anyone who has even a little bit of "un"-common sense.
So the car I brought that did not have sport mode option. Does now. Happy as. Cost? $2.00 for the switch.
