Looks like to the right of the DVD drive.

I have the same button as you but I'm having a hard time finding connectors for the tiny little pins coming out the switch to connect to my wires (BMW 1.2MM). The wires are installed and everything works great but for now I'm just touching the two wires together to activate. The prongs are too small to solder, any thoughts?

For my review of Sport Mode: I have an '06 530xiT automatic. The biggest difference is throttle response. The shift points feel very similar to DS; I was hoping to feel rev-match on downshift- maybe it is happening but I cannot feel it or see it on tach. I 'think' I can feel a difference in steering but it could just be placebo. Does the resistance in the actual turning of the wheel increase or is it just that it takes more turn of the steering wheel to turn the wheels?

Thanks, I need to get some small adapters. My switch contacts are tiny little prongs almost the same size as the 1.2MM BMW cable; tiny little suckers. I will probably need to attach short leads to the ends of the switch and then join the leads to the BMW wires with some fem-fem adapters.

I didn't get your statement regarding the SMG shifter. Are you saying you got a different car your that you retrofitted an SMG shifter and no longer need a sport button? I was never good at Pictionary.

In the second photo, sport button was there, black and blue colour. I brought a M3 shift knob and manual leather boot and DIY DCT look.

I've done this mod. Nothing happens? I am not getting a difference at all - not even like putting the auto to DS. I am very confused as you all are getting differences - in one way or another.

Does the word sport light up for you in the dash? For me the biggest difference is in the throttle response but that may be because I don't drive it hard in regular D so the software defaults to a slower throttle. What car do you have? If you already have dynamic drive then I don't think you'll notice a difference in steering.

Yes I get the SPORT in the dash.. I have E60 525dA M-sport 2005.. I don't get any difference at all.. no change in throttle response, no change in steering, no change in gear change related to higher rpm..
